The University of Edinburgh has a Transkills Unit devoted to we PhD students. This is is obstensively so that we have good skills when we leave university.

I have heard the Transkills guy speak several times. For me this is a bad omen. The more you see him the less likely you are to work in the field you are studying. If my school is training more theologians than are needed the more work he has to do with us to ensure that we are not completely unemployable.
